CORRIDOR BOULDER

THE CORRIDOR BOULDER OF ( CHOPPING BLOCK)

This is the second Corridor when parking at the Chopping Block pull off. Park in front of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial sign. Hike into the trees and this boulder will be to your right in the corridor. Light scrambling gets you to the base. A real pain to come in from the top as it requires down climbing and pad throwing.

Corridor Problem V7**

Starts on small crimps midway through problem #2 above. Work a series of small crimps and pinches up and mantle the interesting mantle. Watch your back on this one and helps to have a spotter.

First Ascent: Michael Madsen

Hirsch Corridor Problem V6/7***

Sharp but good boulder problem. This is the original route found and put up by local Chris Hirsch. SDS and move along a small fissure with small crimp holds jutting from it. SHARP! Move along and work a series of slight tension moves to get to the hidden mantle at the top.

First Ascent: Chris Hirsch 2016
